Borehole Drilling

Drilling of an 8½ open well is done to the recommended depth .A 6inch casing is inserted
into the open well, designed to allow water from the aquifers through the screened
casing.

Gravel is then packed along the annular space between the casings and the open well. This is done to prevent any impurities from seeping into the borehole. After casing the well, development is done to maximize the yield and clean up all the
impurities left inside the well.

A test pumping procedure is then undertaken to determine the exact yield of the borehole. A sample of the water is abstracted and taken to a lab for quality analysis.
